Report Highlights
Over the more than two decades since China introduced the reform and opening-up policy, China's electronic information industry has been growing at a speed three times faster than the national economy. China has become a major player in the world electronic information industry. In the rapid development of the industry, Chinese electronic information enterprises have been emerging quickly. Industry concentration rises. Large enterprise groups have become the pillar in the development of the industry, giving a boost to the economy of scale and structural optimization in this sector. In 2005, sales revenue of China's top 100 electronic information enterprises totaled 964.3 billion yuan, taking up 25% in the total of the industry; that was 6.5 times the total sales revenue of China's top 100 electronic information enterprises in 1996. Industry resources are further converging toward leading players, which gives notable support for the industry. By 2005, there were two electronic information enterprises with sales revenue above 100 billion yuan in China, and 22 ones with sales revenue above 10 billion yuan. Lenovo, BOE, Huawei, ZTE, Haier, and TCL have achieved new breakthroughs in multinational operations.
At present, the top 100 enterprises in China's electronic information industry are still ranked by enterprise size, which cannot truly reflect enterprises' competitive strength, innovation capability or prospects, or provide investors with objective analysis of enterprises' investment value. Therefore, CCID Consulting releases the 2006-2007 Annual Report on the Competitiveness of China's 100 Top Companies in Electronic Information Industry.
