The Indonesian textile producers have projected a 10 percent rise in export sales this year to 11.06 billion U.S. dollars with bigger investment in the sector, an executive said here Wednesday.
"With new investment totaling 500 million U.S. dollars in 2008,hopefully the export would increase by 10 percent," said Indonesian Textile Producers Association (API) chairman Benny Soetrisno.
The investment is intended for machinery modernization in the industry, so as to boost production to 1.3 million tons from 1.2 million tons last year.
"In 2007, Indonesia held only 1.8 percent of the global textile market share," he was quoted by leading news website Detikcom as saying.
