1. Historical development
Zhongguancun Science Park Changping Sector, originally named Beijing New Technology Development Experimental Zone Changping Zone, was established in 1991 approved by the Beijing Municipal Government. In April 1994, it became a part of the state level high-tech science park. In June 1999, the State Council of China approved the "Note of Request to Expedite the Building of Zhongguancun Science Park " by the Beijing Municipal Government and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Changping Science Park was officially changed its name into Zhongguancun Science Park Changping Sector. The administrative committee of Changping Science Park, as an affiliated organization with the people’s government of Changping district, under the leadership of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science park and the local government, it takes the responsibility for the park’s construction and development, creates environment, executes administration and provides services for the high-tech enterprises in the park.
2. Present situation of development
After more than ten years’ rapid development, Changping Science Park has formed a competitive and creative group of high-tech enterprises. High-tech industry is playing a more and more important role in speeding the economic development and readjusting the industrial structure in Changping district.
