On July 9, the heaviest hail in last 20 years attacked Changping and brought fruit growers much economic loss. On the morning of July 17, Mr. Tong Genzhu, the Secretary of Changping District inspected the situation of fighting hail and providing disaster relief and claims settlement by insurance companies, and condoled with fruit growers in their loss. Cao Pengcheng, standing member of Changping Party Committee, and Su Weidong, Vice Warden of Changping District, accompanied Mr. Tong Genzhu to this inspection.
In this hail disaster, 472 fruit growers from 3 towns suffered economic loss, and growth of fruits in 6300 mu (a mu approximately equals one-fifteenth hectare) were influenced. To avoid the rot of fruits and branches following the hail, 10 ton of pesticide had reached fruit growers, and specialized planting instructors had been dispatched to orchard to help disaster relief. Now, orchard is in better and better state.
When Tong Genzhu visited Yingfang Orchard and Sanhezhuang Orchard in Nanshao Town, he carefully listened to reports on after-hail measures, told relative officers to make fruit grower calm and hopeful, and promised that the District Party Committee and Changping Government would coordinate the paybacks and minimize fruit growers’ loss.
In addition, fruit growers had received 200,000 RMB from People’s Insurance Company of China and Anhua Agricultural Insurance Co., Ltd.
