Dear friends,
Many mining, oil, and gas companies operating in China are aware of the importance of strategic community development programs to build their social license to operate in local communities. However, designing and implementing these programs is still a challenge.
BSR (Business for Social Responsibility), CIMG (China International Mining Group) and ICMM (International Council on Mining and Metals) are pleased to present a workshop aimed at strategic community development with a focus on diagnostics, program design, execution, monitoring and evaluation. Participants will learn from international experts and other participants about practical tools, real-life experiences and industry best practices in company-sponsored community development programs.
The workshop will leverage the following activities to provide a stimulating and impactful learning experience for participants:
• Presentations on best practice tools by companies and other organizations.
• Case studies on the use of community development tools, including reflections on successes and lessons learned;
• Lively discussion in small working groups ;
• Ample networking opportunities;
• Take-away “tool box” of community development resources discussed in the workshop.
