As part of the CIMG’s activities around China Mining 2007, the China International Mining Group (CIMG) along with the support of its members is hosting a workshop to identify the major opportunities, concerns and solutions related to enhancing mine safety practices in China. The workshop will provide a platform to exchange information among CEO’s and senior managers of the mining community who are involved with mine safety, training methods and emergency preparedness. Working towards a zero injury work environment is a key issue facing all mining executives. The workshop will provide the platform to exchange information with experts that will help attendees towards their journey of achieving a totally safe workplace environment. This workshop is designed to appeal to CEO’s and senior managers by researching their needs and focusing on risk management, safety management and behavioral based management. Case studies and industry speakers will provide perspectives on:
• Identifying, categorising and managing risks • Mitigation and Control of risks through behavioral based management • Training methods • Safety as a driver towards company value
